	The purpose of the Centre is to foster, broaden, and enhance the understanding of thermodynamics and its applications by the international community of scientists and engineers both in academia and industry. To this end, the Centre promotes and organises conferences, symposia, seminars, fora and special courses on the theory and applications of thermodynamics, and publishes the presentations, deliberations, and original contributions in proceedings, journals, reference books and other media. Thermodynamics is undergoing a long overdue renaissance, and the Centre aspires to be a leader in this effort.
